Roslyn Orlando spent time researching, experimenting and developing a new composition and performance for voice, taking as its starting point the concept of a 'speech act'. The exploration sought to find ways for a new form of speech to emerge, one that shifts the capacities of our desires and asked what kind of power could be held in such an act?

'The OHBTS residency, with its focus on providing creative time for female-identifying people, with its supplementary child care contribution, came at a pivotal time for me. Following the birth of my child and a subsequent pause in artmaking, the residency afforded me the very precious opportunity to return to creative practice.'
