Orange House resident 2023, Gail Priest, researched conceptual constructs to develop performative strategies around live text generation that can be integrated into an audio-visual performance mode that could be presented in theatres and concert situations. She used a combination of aural and visual text, as well as her live and her AI clone voice.

'The residency prioritises mid-career artist and this is vitally important. The fact that there is no set outcome required and no “curatorial” intervention is also wonderful. It shows trust and faith that assumes a respect for an individual artist’s process and needs that can so often be lacking in residency situations. Lastly the location is also vital – being in solitude and with the open inspiration of the seascape makes this residency truly unique.' Gail Priest
